The last meeting of the Castlefields & Ditherington Neighbourhood Forum was held on May 8, 2008, at Martin Wilson School starting at 7pm.

The meeting was very well attended and focused on actions to be taken including issues such as roads, traffic, transport litter, anti-social behaviour, youth services and enviromental issues. It was an evening for local people to have their say on plans to take improvements forward in a real way.

A budget of about £20,000 has been allocated to the Forum which will be spent on projects in the Castlefields and Ditherington areas. To apply for a grant please contact Alan Mosely or Celia Bahrami. Alan can be contacted at alan.mosley@shropshire.gov.uk or by telephone on 01743 231834. Celia can be contacted at celia.bahrami@shropshire.gov.uk or by telephone on 01743 252269

Steering Group

A steering group has been set up and is putting together an action plan. The idea of the action plan is to consult with residents and organisations such as Severnside Housing and the police to find out the issues affecting Castlefields & Ditherington.

It will come up with suggestions of how to improve the area and the forum will then be able to bid for funding to put the plans into action.

The steering group is a friendly bunch of volunteers and is open to anyone who lives in Castlefields and Ditherington. If you are interested in joining, contact Councillor Alan Mosley on (01743) 231834 or Joe Bubb on joe.bubb@shropshire.gov.uk
