Moving Forward. Morda Village Design Statement
Oswestry Rural Parish Council is seeking community minded volunteers, who would like to be involved in the development of a Village Design Plan for the Morda with Sweeney ward influencing and producing a document that will assist council decisions relating to building, environment, facilities and local controls. The project is to cover the main village of Morda with Weston, and its approaches.
This is a wonderful chance for local people to determine future development and controls, in producing a document that will assist the parish council to support the communities in the ward and across the whole of the parish. With the creation of a steering group at the meeting of the 27th October, held at Morda & Sweeney Village Hall we would like to now urge all those who wish to be involved in this wonderful opportunity to influence local council policies to contact the Clerk to the Parish Council for future meetings or contact us direct at; morda.n.sweeneyvh@googlemail.com
As part of the Design Statement we are looking for local people with a keen interest in the history of the village; the former brick works, coal mines, tram way, work house and isolation hospital, or the many mills that once lined the banks of the Morda River.
Do you have memories or pictures to share, if so please do contact us.
