The Draft Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday 14th July 2010 at Wistanstow Village Hall commencing at 7.30pm

Members of the public were present

1. Apologies:

Apologies were received from Mr H Goodwin, Mr P Jones, Mr S Minton-Beddoes and Mr R Brown

2. Members of the Public/County Councillor:

Mr J A Gibson explained the need for Shropshire Council to make further cuts of £10 million in this financial year.

Mr A Millhouse raised the condition of the roadway in Roman Fold and the condition of the verge at the entrance to the site.

4. Minutes

Parish Council approved the minutes of the meetings held on the 2nd June 2010, which were signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

6. Chairman's Communications:

Shropshire Council had issued a document Spotlight on the Shropshire Economy which can be viewed on the following website link comments need to be submitted by the 30th September 2010

7. Planning Items:

No planning applications receive

8. Highway Items:

a) The Clerk reported that the Highway Agency could see no justification for extending southwards the existing double white line system on the summit curve of the A49 junction.

The solid white line for southbound traffic stops at a point where vehicles have breasted the summit and have a clear view ahead to the next bend south of the Bushmoor junction. This line would need to be extended several hundreds of meters south if it were to cover the Bushmoor junction and this would not be allowed under the current national regulations.

9. Financial Items:

The Parish Councils bank balance was £11,898.17

The following accounts were approved for payment:

K Adams - internal audit fee - £100

Npower - street lighting - £70.56

10. Report from outside Organisations:

a) Mr A Millhouse reported the the meeting of the Craven Arms and Rural Local Joint Committee to be held on the 15th July 2010 commencing at 5.45 will include a visit to a local farm and a demonstration by Colin Richards on eco building.

b) Mrs J Woodroffe reported that the village hall committee had obtained further funding of £15,000 and were now able to proceed with the improvements to the annex.

c) The next meeting of the South Shropshire Area Committee will be held on the 27th July 2010 commencing 7.30pm at the Bishop Mascall Centre Ludlow.
