CONSERVATION

There are seventeen Conservation Areas within The Borough of Shrewsbury & Atcham

In recent Months The Borough Council has reappraised, revised and updated The Conservation Area Statements of all seventeen including The Acton Burnell Conservation Area.                                                     Consultation documents are available for perusal.                                 The paper is available on The Borough Council web site and copies are available to view at The Guildhall.

A major change in Acton Burnell is a proposal to add some protection to unlisted buildings of special interest.     In order to preserve and enhance the special character of Acton Burnell it is proposed that an article 4(2) direction be made in respect of Nos 5, 6-7, 9, 18, 23-24, 26-27,         Denver House, Home Farm, and Acton Burnell Farm   In a nut shell Article 4 directions are a means of regulating changes made to the frontages of unlisted buildings facing a public highway.

effects of conservation area designation, is readily available for
members of the public from The Guildhall. It is also on the website at
www.shrewsbury.gov.uk. Follow the grey menu on the left 'Your Council
