Flames Netball Club at Craven Arms

Welcome.....

We welcome players of all abilities from School years four to eleven to train weekly at Craven Arms Community Centre. We also enter teams in the Shropshire Junior League at; U11, U14 and U16 age groups.

Through regular training sessions and matches we aim to create a club environment that promotes:

  • Enjoyment
  • friendships
  • skills development
  • an understanding of teamwork
  • individual achievement and...
  • above all respect for each other in a sporting environment.

Our philosophy is that all players who attend regular training will be provided with the opportunity to play in competitive matches if they wish. Selection will be based on attendance at training sessions and on a rotation basis. Matches are held monthly on a Sunday, against other clubs from across the county at Shrewsbury Sports Village

Laces must be securely tied during training and match sessions.

For the safety of all players it is important that jewellery is not worn, long hair is tied back and fingernails are cut short.

We also like players to bring drinks of water or weak squash for training and matches.

The cost of training sessions is ?25 per term and the cost of matches is ?2.00.

Training takes place at Craven Arms Community Centre.

Programme of Activity

At training we will focus on core movement skills for all age groups, this is the A,B,Cs (agility, balance, coordination) of movement that will form part of warm up activities. This uses the latest sports research that demonstrates ABCs as being a critical foundation of all sports

Players will also be helped with individual skill development and tactical game play.
