Old Oswestry Hill Fort, on the outskirts of Oswestry, is described by English Heritage as 'the most hughely impressive Iron Age Hill Fort on the Welsh Borders'. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument which is linked to the mythology of King Arthur, but also is important for late-glacial landscape and has an important flora and fauna living upon it. On a clear day it is a great vantage point from which to see large parts of the borders.
