You have completed your application form and it has been approved, so you are now ready to create a website. Login to your group website where you can carry out a wide range of services.
There are a number of features you can add to your website as well as creating your own content.
Click on the ‘Manage your website’ tab from the home page, (users without administration rights will not see this tab). You will see the following range of options (1):
- Create New Pages – create, edit and publish content.
- Services & permissions - turn website services on/off (Events/Photo Album etc.) and set permissions for administrators.
- Organisation details - change your contact details, text and homepage logo/image.
- Select a design - choose from a range of designs for your website.
- Rename Navigation Labels – you can change the default labels of the main menu items on your website.
- Manage homepage elements - turn on/off homepage elements; Forthcoming Events, Contact Details etc.
- Members – invite people to be members of your website or to help with administration.
- Welcome Email - decide whether your group sends a welcome email when someone joins the site, and what the email says.
- External site options - switch between using the shrop.net information server sub-site and an external website.
- Edit default metadata - edit the metadata default values for content without metadata and for setting default values for new content. Adding metadata allows your site to be found more easily by search engines.
- Broken link report – view a report of broken links in the site content.
- Site statistics - view a report of site usage statistics.
- Send bulk mail - send an email to all the members of the group.

- Services and permissions (2) – you can enable additional services on your site, for example:
- job listings
- events
- discussions
- surveys
- photo album
- useful links
You can grant users or administrators permissions to make changes to these services
- Organisation details (3) – you can change the details of your organisation
The choices you have are:
- Display/edit basic details – description of the group and a front page image if you have one. To add an image click ‘Browse’ to find the image on your computer
- Display/edit contact details – how to contact the group
- Display/edit service details – details of meeting place and times
- Edit logo – to add a logo click ‘Browse’ to find the image on your computer. If you want to replace the it click ‘Delete’ and then add a new one
- Select a design (4) - you can select a colour scheme for your website
- Click on a design to change the colour scheme and layout.
- Clicking the ‘select’ link changes the overall colour scheme, as well as the positions of the navigation menu. These can be on the left, along the top, or on the right
- External site options (5) – you can direct users to an external site if you already have a fully operational website elsewhere on the Web
